Last weekend, the Irish capital welcomed members of the leather and fetish scene from all over the world for the highly-anticipated Dublin Leather Weekend. With a full lineup of events, a leather-clad crowd gathered to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the community and crown Mr Dublin Leather and Puppy Ireland 2025.
Leather weekends take place in major cities across the globe and provide an opportunity for people to express their fetish and kink in a safe space. The Dublin Leather Weekend is an annual occurrence organised by Leathermen of Ireland, an amazing group of volunteers committed to promoting the leather and fetish scene in the country.
Last year’s event saw the coronation of Irish kinkster Fionn as Mr Dublin Leather and Puppy Ripley as Puppy Ireland 2024, two outspoken members of the kink community who have used their platform to advocate for safe and consensual practices and to promote the Irish leather scene abroad. On Saturday, January 25, the pair passed on their sashes to two other candidates.

Speaking to GCN during the event, Fionn said he intends to “help the next Mr Dublin Leather to achieve their full potential across the year. I was the first, so I didn’t really have someone who could exactly understand what I was going through. But I can now be that person for the people who come after me.”
He also announced his plans to participate in International Mr Leather in Chicago in May. “It’s like bringing Ireland back to that global stage and being like, ‘We went away for a couple of years, but we’re back. And the Irish scene is back, and we’re stronger than ever’.”

Puppy Ripley also spoke about passing on the title, saying: “I’ve had 12 months travelling around, meeting amazing people through the entire year, and getting so many opportunities to do things I never would have been able to do.
“And everyone here is family. We’re all friends. We all know each other. And so passing it on to one of my family members basically was amazing. And it was lovely to know I was giving it to Reggie, who’s our new title holder.”
The competition for Puppy Ireland took place last Saturday afternoon in PantiBar, where Pup Reggie proved himself “the best boy” and took home the title. Commenting on his success, Pup Reggie told GCN: “I entered two years ago, and I tied for second place and I was very happy with my scoring because I was brand new to it.
“And I figured I’d take some time, figure myself out, and then come back. I genuinely did not expect to win. So it’s very surreal, and I haven’t actually processed it yet,” he continued. “But I am unbelievably happy and also slightly terrified, but in a good way. I know I care about it because I am terrified.”

The main event of the weekend took place on Saturday night in DV8, where Mr Dublin Leather 2025 was elected by leatherfolk from all over the world. After a tough competition where contestants spoke about the necessity of forming a tight community in times like these, Irish kinkster Jamie took home the title.
“It’s such an honour,” he told GCN. “It’s a validation of everything that I’ve done to support the community. It’s permission to stand more publicly and really show the world what we’re about and what we represent and what makes us special.”

Speaking about his plans for this year, he added: “I’m hoping to open up more channels that we can use to reach out to people outside of social media. So things like a newsletter, the expansion of our existing website. I really want us to be able to connect with everyone no matter what platforms they’re using or where they’re coming from.”
Leatherman of Ireland is a group that meets up usually once every two months. Find out more about the orgainsation and its events on leathermenofireland.ie.
