LINC to host WOAH! women only Pride event in Cork

LINC Women’s Pride Party promises a colourful and lively commemoration of the rebellious and influential LBT Women of the organisation's past.

Pride Flag being held in Cork City

As part of the Cork Pride Festival 2019, LINC (Lesbians in Cork) will be hosting a Women Only Pride party called WOAH! on August 3. The event will celebrate the strong and inspiring LBT women whose voices have amplified and emboldened the organisation’s manifesto of equality and support and will also mark LINC’s 20th Anniversary.

Taking place in the Kino, a unique arts and events centre in the heart of Cork City, LINC are offering the city a wonderful and potent homage to the organisation’s history.

The Pride party promises to host entertainment as varied as Cork’s incredible cohort of LBT women. During the night, there will be an empowering commemorative theatre performance from the lesbian, bi and trans thespians in the LINC Drama Group. It will highlight the inspiring women who have endeavoured to make LINC a home which fosters friendship, family and support for all queer women.

This will be followed by a foot stomping performance from the much loved and celebrated Corkonian group, Sparkle Band. A set from the fabulous DJ Andrea will finish off the night.

Basically, WOAH! is going to be incredibly special!

LINC was founded in 1999 and this Cork jewel has been a centre of support and love for queer women in Cork for two decades now, constantly endeavouring to improve their lives and wellbeing. The organisation provides a fun and welcoming queer refuge, hosting regular events and groups.

This Cork Pride Festival marks the rebel county’s 26th Pride Event. It will be launched on July 27 and will culminate in a fabulous parade on August 4.

Tickets for the WOAH! Women Only Pride event will be on sale for 12 Euro and the event starts at 8pm at the Kino. More information on the event can be found at the LINC Facebook Event.
