Lady Gaga has officially announced her highly anticipated new album, Mayhem, set for release on March 7, 2025, via Interscope. Formerly referred to as LG7, Mayhem is Gaga’s first proper pop album since 2020’s Chromatica. It follows Harlequin—her jazz companion piece to Joker: Folie à Deux, which fans nicknamed LG6.5.

The album features 14 tracks, including the previously released singles ‘Disease‘ and ‘Die With a Smile’. A brand-new single, along with its accompanying music video, is set to debut during the commercial break at this year’s Grammy Awards on February 2.

In a statement, Gaga revealed the inspiration behind the album: “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved. The creative process was like reassembling a shattered mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”

The album’s development has been teased in cryptic ways, including mysterious billboards in New York City and Las Vegas and a dramatic trailer shared on Gaga’s Instagram page and YouTube channel. Production credits for Mayhem include Lady Gaga, Michael Polansky, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Gesaffelstein, with Gaga and Watt serving as executive producers.

Gaga described Mayhem in a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times as a project that “leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt,” offering a diverse and experimental listening experience. Reflecting on the album’s emotional journey, she added: “It ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life — I find peace with love. Every song I wrote felt like I was being swept away by dreams of the past, almost like revisiting all these bad decisions I made.”

While the full tracklist hasn’t been revealed, fans eagerly anticipate what’s to come. And they won’t have to wait too long – keep an eye out for the next single during the 2025 Grammys!
