In a turn of events that no one expected, Irene ‘The Alien’ Dubois from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 has hilariously parodied a viral Irish dancing video trend. The queen posted the TikTok on September 2, re-enacting Instagram reels from Eire Designs by Gavin Doherty.
In the original videos posted by the Belfast costume maker, Irish dancers introduce themselves before removing a cloak to reveal their new dress. While there are many posts with the same format, one in particular went viral, amassing over 450,000 views on Instagram.
In it, Orla Mowatt of the Sharon Taylor Academy shows off all angles of her gold and red sparkling “new Gavin”, blowing the camera a kiss to conclude the video.

Irene Dubois was inspired by the reel, creating a costume reveal of her own.
Pictured first in a silver cloak, the performer says, somewhat stiffly, “Hi, my name is Irene Dubois. I’m from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15, and I’m so excited to show off my new Gavin.”
Thus, she strips her cover-up to expose a fabulous outfit comprised of knee-high boots, a synching corsage, and bony bralette. The queen does a four point turn, as is custom in the Irish dancing videos, before ending the video saying, “Thank you to Gavin and all the team. I love it.”
The costume is of course not actually from Eire Designs, but rather Lyraphic as per Irene Dubois’ Instagram.

Fans who understood the reference were absolutely gagged, with one commenting, “This is the most glorious nice content. Officially obsessed.”
Another wrote, “THIS IS EVERYTHINGGGGGG,” adding, “the eire designs team killed this one”.
However, the trend was lost on some viewers, who have miraculously managed to avoid falling down the rabbit hole of Irish dancing custom reveal videos.
“Irene blink twice if u need help,” one commenter said.
Either way, we think she and all the Eire Design Irish dancing queens are truly slaying, and hope to see more drag artists show off their new Gavins ASAP.
